International Appalachian Trail 2026
For my next adventure, I’m hoping to walk/hike/bike the roughly 1,500 mile IAT, which is an extension of the well-known Appalachian Trail, starting from Mt Katahdin, Maine. As you can see from the map, this route is more of a concept than a continuous, congruous trail. I’m not sure if I’ll do all of it or some modified version. There’s a lot of road walking through most all of northern Maine, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and much of Newfoundland. For those parts, I’ve considered buying a cheap bike to use as is possible, we’ll see.
